If you wanna see how old they are, they were this young when I first heard their first hit song. Yup, they are that old now. But yeah, not yet Paul McCartney old.

Disable the F1 key in Windows

I've been using Windows probably since 1994 and I would say I'm an above-average Windows user by now. If you are like me, you probably know that you press the F1 key to fire up Help documentation. But if you are like me, you are probably annoyed by this "easy-access" feature, because more often you need to press maybe the Esc key or the F2 keys, but you accidentally press the F1 key. Nothing wrong with that, but applications/software/programs in Windows then suddenly launch Help and it's usually huge and it takes time to load, and it just disrupts your work flow or train of thought or whatever you're doing. I hate it. So I wanted to disable it; and well, Google gives us the best solution (though this will need a little extra expertise for most people) from eHow.com. [UPDATED] Send files up to 2Gb in size

Technically this is just one of many features of DropBox, probably my numero uno favorite service, but this is all it does and it does it well. Try Adobe's SendNow. It's a free service to send files up to 100Mb in sizewith storage of up to 500Mb worth of files; you can pay for their service and then you will be able to send files much larger than up to 2Gb.

Googlighting

Apparently an advert from Microsoft. While, yeah, Google's "we're not evil" mantra is now subject to debate, I also see here a Microsoft attacking its common enemy with Apple in a try-hard-to-be-like-Apple way (ala "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC").

Check out this new website called Svpply (pronounced Supply, I guess). With Svpply, in their own words, you can: (1) Follow your favorite people and stores to build your own feed of great products, (2) Save the stuff you want to buy later from any retail website, and (3) Discover the best products online, all straight from your community. Interesting.

People's iPhone/iTouch Home Screens

Oh, of course I meant iPod Touch. Anyways. This guy named Daniel Wadja started this relatively very new website showcasing a curated selection of people's (mostly iPhone and iPod Touch, jailbroken or non-jailbroken) home screens, called Swipe The Linen. I'll be submitting my home screen shortly. I found out about this website from this other interesting blog that I've blogged about, "Inspired" by Apple.

Uhmmm, tablets can do that better, but yeah.

Prison Dancer

You've heard about those dancing inmates from Cebu, Philippines, dancing to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and a few other songs. But have you heard about the musical about them? The musical is aptly called, Prison Dancer, and it stars YouTube sensation and Canadian Idol alum, Filipino-Canadian Mikey Bustos. According to a report from ABS-CBN, it will become a web musical; i.e. we will be able to stream the musical and watch it online (or download it to watch offline) on our computers, tablets, smartphones, TVs, etc. There was no mention of whether the streaming (or download) will require any fee (i.e. the equivalent of an entrance fee to an actual live show) ala Louis C.K. While the cast and crew are all probably Canadian citizens, what's cool is that they're all mostly Filipino-Canadian. Filipinos represent!

Apparently, "Rod" and a few other names for guys, and "Becky" and a few other names for girls are considered "hot" names. I suddenly imagine Paris Hilton saying "That's Hot." And there are also some lists of names of successful men and women, like "Brad" and "Kirsty." And finally, there are lists of names of least hot and least successful men and women. I wish that your name isn't on one of the bottom lists. Disclaimer: these are results that probably more reflect American culture.

More Online "TV"

I know you guys have heard of Vimeo. Unlike YouTube which is all about You on the Tube, this is all about Me and Videos. Hence Vimeo.

But have you heard of Mevio? Sounds very familiar, don't it? Anyways, it is very different from Vimeo. From the spelling to what it's about - it's actually a website dedicated to "broadcasting" its own produced "TV" shows and podcasts on the internet. Very much like, TWiT.tv. While TWiT is basically all about technology, Mevio has all sorts of content.

I've also told you about Frequency, but there's also FrequencyTV which is itself more like Mevio. For all these three "online TV" services, they stream 24/7. Then lastly, there's http://www.channelflip.com/ which is basically just a production house for a number of shows on various topics; they do not have live streaming.

For Filipinos around the world, there's Mo Twister's The Battle Axe Network which is a similar concept to the first three "international" services mentioned earlier, although still probably just 99% of the way there.

Watch videos from all your favorite video sources

...in one website! It's almost like watching TV, but no need to change channels, watch only the content you want, skip over not so interesting video clips. If you've heard of one cool viral video on the internet, you can use this site to search for it, and that's even if that video was on YouTube, Vimeo, or whatever other video source it is from. There's a Top 25 list if you don't want to have to choose what to watch. This has the potential to be the one-stop shop for online video. Visit the website, it's called Frequency, at www.frequency.com. (Note: You can also actually "change channels" if you want.)
