Longest video on YouTube

More than 9 hours and counting.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct8nZ6eTTiY
How to upload videos longer than 15 minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R08sWuGiUyE
The above link is a video by a YouTube user who has uploaded a ton of public domain (i.e. free) old movies (i.e. usually longer than 1 hour).  For those very boring Saturday afternoons at home.  Here's a sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpn93DocVhk.
One warning: Some people are stupid.

I (heart) Ilocos Empanada

I was introduced to the Ilocos Empanada (the Vigan variety) at the Mac's Deli at Tiendesitas, Pasig City, Philippines, and I've loved it since then.  By the way, Vigan is a place in Northern Philippines.  They do not serve a vegan kind of Ilocos Empanada.

Empanada is Spanish for meat pie.

I (heart) UP

The UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2010 champions - the UP Pep Squad. They are "magaling" and won because they worked hard, and you can see it paid off. It's not because they are Filipinos. Or that because they are from UP. UP's basketball team can't even win one game! The UP Basketball team don't have excuses for that. They just don't work hard enough. No, I'm not talking about the players - I'm talking about the whole team and that includes the coaches, the managers, and UP itself.

Singapore Catholic Church Information

Find commute or walking directions around Singapore

Turn "Jologs"

With the advent of text messaging and then its per-text-fee in the Philippines, Filipinos have resorted to using this "new language" that mixes Filipino and English and contractions thereof to maximize the 160 character limit in text messages.  Often, the vowels disappear but also to become more... Filipino... there are additions of some words and consonants (like "h") here and there that are themselves from Filipino or English words.  Well check it out for yourself: http://kalokohan.guissmo.frih.net/jologs.php

I love you in many languages

From Omniglot.com (see the complete list from this link):

English - I love you
Spanish - Te amo
Italian - Ti amo
Mandarin Chinese - wo ai ni
Japanese - ai shiteru
Cebuano - gihigugma ko ikaw
Tagalog - mahal kita / minamahal kita / iniibig kita / iniirog kita
Chamorro - Hu guiaya hao

Omniglot also shows the traditional, "Baybayin" alphabet used in the Philippines or at least the Tagalog region, long before the Latin alphabet was introduced by the Spaniards: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/tagalog.htm

Read about "love" in the Japanese context from http://japanese.about.com/library/weekly/aa021101a.htm

Having a pet = bad for mother earth!

Read this article... A big pet dog could have as much carbon footprint as a medium-size SUV! But the article says, changing the pet's diet is one solution. Reduce the meat, in particular.  Read more at:
