Great photography on really cool photo sharing website

Check out 500px.com, which was mentioned on that podcast I mentioned earlier, which also featured photographer Derrick Story who runs his own aptly-named podcast, The Digital Story.

Frederick van Johnson, Photographer

Learned about this guy on TWiT Photo, the "netcast" from TWiT.tv, on an episode where they also talk about digital vs. film photography. Check out his photo gallery and his similarly-named (but started earlier) podcast This Week in Photo. He was formerly a combat photo journalist while in the US military, formerly with Apple helping in the early development of iPhoto, with Adobe working on Lightroom, and with Yahoo! working on some of their content portals.

On that TWiT photo episode I mentioned there was also another photographer guest, as well as a really cool online photograph-related service. I will link to them on the next couple of RAW articles. Stay tuned. :-D

Krump 360

Watch first the Behind the Scenes video on the 360 Project. “The 360 Project is an exploration into the crossroads of photography and motion pictures. It is a study of peak dance movements, captured simultaneously by 48 cameras aligned in a circle.” Then watch their two finished products: Krump 360, and Ballet 360. Thanks to my buddy Saj for the links. Yeah, it's the first time I encountered "Krumping," too. :-D
